How to find the best taxi service in Udaipur without getting ripped off
Most drivers here are lovely and will happily point out where the best kachori is. Still, a few minutes of clarity at the start saves an argument at the end. These work no matter who you book with.
Agree the fare before the wheels turn
Ask for the full fare upfront and what it covers: kilometres, hours, waiting time, fuel. Get it on WhatsApp so nobody remembers it differently later.
Ask about the extras
Tolls, parking, state permits on outstation trips, driver's night charges and hill or late-evening surcharges. Ask whether they're included or added at the end.
Know your route roughly
Open a map before you set off. The airport at Dabok is around 22 km from the city, so a fare that sounds like double that distance deserves a question.
Self-drive? Carry the paperwork
Bring your original driving licence and a photo ID. Photograph the vehicle (scratches, fuel level, odometer) before you ride off, and ask how the deposit is returned.
Helmets are not optional
For a scooty on rent in Udaipur, check you get a helmet that fits for every rider, and that brakes, horn and lights work. Old city lanes are steep and narrow.
Save the driver's number
Note the vehicle number and the driver's phone before the trip, especially for early airport runs and late returns from Sajjangarh or Karni Mata.
If a fare suddenly changes mid-trip, stay calm, refer to what you agreed in writing, and if you booked through us, call or WhatsApp us on +91 90575 45514.
Airport and railway station pickups.
The first half hour of a trip sets the mood. Book your transfer before you travel and skip the bargaining with a heavy bag in hand.
Udaipur airport transfer
Maharana Pratap Airport is at Dabok, roughly 22 km east of the city. Share your flight number so the driver can watch for delays, and leave extra time for the drive on the way out.
Request an airport transferUdaipur railway station pickup
Udaipur City station is close to the centre, but early-morning arrivals and big families with luggage are much happier with a car waiting. Add your train number and we'll pass it on.
Request a station pickupA sightseeing cab for the whole day.
Morning at the City Palace, a boat on Lake Pichola, lunch with a view, Saheliyon ki Bari after, then up to Sajjangarh or the Karni Mata ropeway for sunset. A Udaipur local sightseeing cab strings it all together while you keep your energy for the stairs.

Udaipur weddings tend to spread across a few hotels and a venue by the lake. Airport runs, guest shuttles, hotel-to-venue loops and a decorated car for the big moment can all start with one enquiry. Write early: wedding season books up fast.

A local travel desk, not a taxi app.
Only Udaipur
We're not a nationwide booking app. We know which roads jam near Chetak Circle in the evening and how long the drive to Kumbhalgarh actually takes.
One request, many options
Fill one form instead of calling five numbers off a signboard. We do the asking around.
Price first, booking second
You hear the price before you commit. If something's unclear, ask us and we'll get it in writing.
Partners we'd ride with
We work with local drivers and rental partners we'd trust with our own family visiting from out of town.
Odd requests welcome
A driver who'll wait through a family function, a pickup at 4 am, a detour to Eklingji? Tell us. We'll see what's possible.
The ride sorted? Now the fun part.

Stories from the City of Lakes.
New places, festival dates, food finds and the odd local secret. One friendly email when there's something worth telling you, never spam.
Taxis, transfers and rentals: your questions.
No. We don't own vehicles. When you send a request, we pass it to trusted local drivers and rental partners, then come back to you with what's available and what it costs. You confirm only when you're happy.
You get an automatic confirmation email with a summary of your request straight away (check spam or promotions if it's missing). A team member or partner then calls or WhatsApps you to confirm availability and the price. For urgent same-day needs, WhatsApp us on +91 90575 45514 after submitting.
Yes, in most cases. Choose Airport Transfer, tell us whether you're arriving or departing, and add your flight date and time. The flight number helps the driver track delays. It's about 22 km between the airport and the city, so plan departure pickups with some breathing room.
Yes, subject to what partners have for your dates. Choose Bike / Scooty Rental and add your start date. You'll need your original driving licence and a photo ID, and most partners ask for a refundable deposit. Always ride with a helmet.
If you're covering several spots in a day (City Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari, Fateh Sagar, then Sajjangarh for sunset), a cab with a driver saves a lot of haggling and waiting. For short hops in the old city, walking or an auto is often easier, as some lanes are too narrow for cars.
We can help coordinate airport runs, guest shuttles and hotel-to-venue transfers through partners. Share your dates, guest count and venue, and we'll come back with what's possible. Bigger events need more notice, so write to us early.
Prices aren't fixed. They depend on the vehicle, distance, dates and season, and are confirmed with you before booking. Payment terms are set by the partner providing the service; we'll tell you clearly how it works for your booking.
