Your destination wedding in Udaipur, written in lake light
Palaces on the water, sunsets behind the Aravallis and a city that has thrown more baraats than anyone can count. We're locals, and we help you find the right venue and the right people to pull it off.

The city does half the decorating.
Maharana Udai Singh II founded Udaipur in 1559 and his descendants spent the next few centuries adding palaces, ghats and gardens around the lakes. James Tod called it one of the most romantic spots in India, and honestly, he wasn't wrong.
That is why a destination wedding in Udaipur feels different. Your mandap can face a lake, your guests can arrive by boat and your photographer barely needs to hunt for a good angle. Add easy flights into Dabok and a hospitality scene that knows weddings inside out, and it's easy to see why couples from across India and abroad keep choosing it.
From the airport to the album.
The way most of our wedding weekends seem to unfold, give or take a cousin who misses the flight.
- Arrival at Dabok
- Welcome dinner
- Mehendi & sangeet
- Old city walk
- Lake at sunset
- Pheras
- Memories
Not one ceremony. A whole festival.
An Indian wedding is a series of moments, and each one suits a different corner of the city. We can help with any of them, or all of them.

Destination weddings
Three days, one city, everyone you love in the same place.

Pre-wedding shoots
Hills, ghats and golden light.

Engagements
A ring, a lake, a palace in the distance.

Mehendi
Henna, dholak and a garden full of colour.

Haldi
Yellow everything, and plenty of laughter.

Cocktail evenings
Sundowners with a palace view.

Sangeet
Folk beats meet the family dance-off.

Receptions
A night-time finale by the water.

A palace wedding in Udaipur, where the Maharanas once held court.
Carved jharokhas, marble courtyards, mirror-work halls and arches that frame every photo. Palace hotels and heritage properties give your ceremony a sense of occasion you simply can't build with décor alone. We help you work out which ones fit your guest list and style, then put you in touch with people who can check availability for your dates.
Lake view wedding venues, with the sunset on the guest list.
Around sunset on a winter evening, Lake Pichola turns gold, then pink, then a deep blue as the City Palace lights flicker on. Time your pheras or your cocktail hour for that window and nobody will be looking at their phone (except to take photos).
Pichola, Fateh Sagar and the lakes outside the city all have venues with terraces and lawns at the water's edge. Not every lakeside spot allows events or late-night music, though, so we help you shortlist the ones that do.

A pre-wedding shoot in Udaipur, one sunrise at a time.
The best Udaipur pre wedding locations sit within a short drive of each other, which means you can fit palace, lake and hill into one day without losing the light.
- Pichola ghats at golden hour
- Ambrai Ghat, for that City Palace view
- Fateh Sagar's promenade and boats
- Sajjangarh at sunset, above it all
- Saheliyon ki Bari's fountains
- Old city lanes and blue doorways
- Badi Lake, quiet and wide open
October to March gives soft light and comfortable outfits. Monsoon shoots (July to September) are lush and green, with dramatic skies. Palaces and monuments may need advance permission for professional shoots, so we check that early.
Plan your pre-weddingIt's not only about the photos.

The backdrop is already done
Lake Pichola, the City Palace, painted havelis, the Aravallis turning blue at dusk. Your décorator adds the flowers; Udaipur has handled the rest for a few hundred years.

Guests get a holiday, not just a function
Between ceremonies your guests can take a boat out, climb to Sajjangarh for sunset or eat their way down the Fateh Sagar promenade. People go home talking about the trip as much as the wedding.

Culture that feels real
Folk musicians with a ravanhatta, safas tied by someone who has done it a thousand times, ghoomar at the sangeet. In Mewar these traditions are part of everyday life, not props.

A city that knows how to host
Udaipur has been welcoming wedding parties for years. Hotels, caterers, decorators and drivers here understand multi-day celebrations, early-morning muhurats and late-night baraats.
The kind of venues that put Udaipur on the wedding map.
Udaipur is one of India's best-known destination wedding cities, and a handful of iconic properties are a big reason why. We mention them so you can picture the style. They are examples, not our partners, and they are far from the only options.
Palace hotels on the lake
Grand lakefront properties such as The Oberoi Udaivilas or The Leela Palace Udaipur show the scale this style can reach: courtyards, terraces and lawns that run down to the water.
Island and heritage venues
Think of Jagmandir Island Palace, the Taj Lake Palace or the Fateh Prakash venues at the City Palace. History in every wall, and guests arriving by boat.
Working with a smaller budget or guest list? Heritage havelis and boutique lakeside stays can be every bit as beautiful.

Wedding, pre-wedding shoot or a single function: a few details are enough to get going. We'll email a confirmation right away and reply personally after that.

Give your guests a trip, not just a ceremony.
The City Palace in the morning, a boat to the islands after lunch, kachori and chai on the Fateh Sagar promenade, Dharohar folk dance at Bagore ki Haveli in the evening. Between functions there is plenty to keep everyone from aunties to college friends happily busy.

Four days, one very happy family.

Day 2
Mehendi & sangeet
Henna by day, a boat ride or old city walk, then music and dancing at night.
Day 3
The wedding
Haldi in the morning, baraat in the evening, pheras under the stars.
Day 4
Farewell & explore
A slow breakfast, one last sunset, shopping for bandhani before flights.
There's a whole city around your celebration.

Questions couples ask us most.
October to March is peak wedding season: warm days, cool evenings and clear skies for outdoor functions. It is also when the best Udaipur wedding venues book up first, so start early if you have a fixed date. April to June gets very hot, often above 40 °C, which suits indoor or evening events better. July to September brings the monsoon, which is lovely for green hills and full lakes but less reliable for open-air ceremonies.
Neither, and we would rather be upfront about that. We are a Udaipur-based local guide. We listen to what you want, help you shortlist venues and connect you with trusted local planners, photographers, decorators, stylists and transport partners. You book and pay them directly, so you always know who you are dealing with.
For a big wedding in peak season, the earlier the better. Popular palace and lake view venues can be booked well ahead, especially on auspicious dates. Smaller functions and pre-wedding shoots need less lead time, but a few weeks' notice gives your photographer room to plan light, locations and any permissions.
Locals' favourites include the ghats of Lake Pichola at golden hour, Ambrai Ghat for the classic City Palace view, the promenade around Fateh Sagar, Sajjangarh (the Monsoon Palace) at sunset, the fountains of Saheliyon ki Bari, the painted lanes of the old city, and the quieter shores of Badi Lake about 12 km out. A good photographer will plan the order around the light.
Often, yes. Palaces, museums, gardens and other monuments usually have their own rules for professional cameras, drones and props, and some need advance permission or a separate fee. Rules change, so your photographer or our team will check the current position for each location before the shoot day.
Absolutely. Not every Udaipur wedding needs a palace and three hundred guests. Heritage havelis, lakeside terraces and boutique stays work beautifully for small groups, and we are just as happy to help with an engagement, a mehendi or a quiet ceremony for close family.
Maharana Pratap Airport at Dabok is about 22 km east of the city, and Udaipur City railway station has trains from many parts of India. The city also has good road links to Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Jodhpur. We can connect you with local partners for airport pickups and guest transport through the weekend.
You will get a confirmation email straight away. Then one of us reads your details properly and gets back to you personally, usually with a few questions, then suggestions on venues and the right people to talk to. Prefer to chat? WhatsApp us on +91 90575 45514.
